September Is National Preparedness Month
Summer vacation is over and the kids are back in school. The days are getting shorter and fall is almost here. September is a great month here in the Pacific Northwest, but it’s also time to transition from summer into our colder, wetter months and get prepared against any type of disaster that can strike. We at ServiceMaster Restore want to provide you with some helpful tips in honor of September being National Preparedness Month.

Below are just a few of those tips you can share:
- After water damage, remove as much water as possible by mopping and blotting and removing area rugs from the floor.
- After fire damage, do not touch anything with your bare hands. Oil from hands can cause additional damage to upholstery, walls and woodwork.
- After vandalism occurs, make a list of all damage and use a shop vacuum to remove glass from carpet and upholstery.
